Wisconsin Bike Federation
A nonprofit advocacy group on a mission to move cycling forward in Wisconsin. We helped relaunch their Ride Across Wisconsin event post-pandemic and nearly doubled ridership, on a smaller budget.
More riders. More trails. More Wisconsin.
The challenge
The Bike Federation came to us in spring 2022 to boost ridership and awareness for Ride Across Wisconsin, an annual fundraiser of one- and two-day rides reaching up to 165 and 235 miles. The event needed to hit "reset" after the pandemic and reach a niche audience of long-distance riders.
The approach
We led the advertising and social media that season, then ramped up in 2023 with a Wisconsin tourism grant, broadening the campaign into neighboring states and shifting to more socially-driven, story-led creative. We put tracking systems in place so the Federation could finally see what was working, and supported a new family-friendly route alongside the hardcore long-distance crowd.
The outcome
ridership, post-pandemic (about 450 to 850 riders).
“Mention Marketing helped us try new methods we had never used before, including putting systems in place so we could track our results. With Mention’s efforts we were able to double our ride participation post-pandemic.”
